Fact Check: CFSD Academic Performance

Fact Check is where we will debunk some of the rumors and misleading arguments being presented by our opponents and/or their supporters. This week we tackle academic performance.


Myth: CFSD is failing to provide students with a quality academic education.


Fact: CFSD performance is among the best in the entire state.


In science, math, and ELA (English Language Arts) CFSD outperforms both the State and its District Peer Group by a wide margin:




Is there room for improvement?  Of course, always! In fact, Superintendent Bartlett recently announced some of the steps the district will take to further assess academic performance during the coming year.


But pretending that CFSD is failing its students? That’s a disingenuous argument.

If you’ve been a subscriber from the beginning, you know that we like to celebrate all things CFSD. Sure, we’re CFSD cheerleaders, and that’s motivated by our love for the district and our schools.  But it’s also backed up by facts. And the facts show that CFSD continues to deliver an excellent education to its students.
